On behalf of the ICT Centre, I would like to express my warmest welcome to all who are visitng this homepage. Every staff and student would get in touch with the ICT Centre when they begin their life in UR_HUye Campus. HKU Portal, University Information System (UIS), Student Connect, electronic mail, master registration, course selection, hall application, etc ... - are some of the ICT (Information and Communication Technology) services that you will be using often. You can probably find the latest upgrade and enhancement to our computer and network services in other articles of this issue of Computer News. To let you have a better understanding of the Computer Centre, I would like to highlight the major services that we provide

ICT Center is one Unit of University of Rwanda. Its basic principle is to promote research and teaching through maintaining and managing the entire University Campus Area Network, the centralized database systems and the computer and electrical equipment for the faculties, staff, and students of the UR_Huye Campus. The Center facilitates research and teaching by integrating leading edge, high performance computing to the individual UR-Huye Campus schools, centers and administrative units, as well as multidisciplinary units across campus. The Centre embraces this disciplinary diversity by supporting and servicing the UR_Huye Campus campus area network. The center ensures that the UR retains superior computing facilities

The ICT Center promotes research and teaching by maintaining and managing the entire University Campus Area Network, the centralized Database systems and the computer and electrical equipment for the faculty, staff, and students of the UR_Huye Campus, as well as advance disciplinary diversity, partnerships, and excellence. ICTC’s Major Initial Goals are to : 1. Develop partnerships among higher education institutions to increase and improve the region’s ICT education capacity. 2. Deepen and expand collaboration with industry to create an ICT workforce that fully meets the region’s economic needs. 3. Identify, implement and disseminate ICT education best practices in the region, working towards a standardization of ICT competencies, skills and education approaches. 4. Develop fully articulated ICT education pathways and work to implement them throughout the region. 5. Expand, diversify and improve the region’s ICT workforce. 6. Enhance linkages to global ICT educators and employers
